When Table Health opened its doors in Traverse City, Michigan five years ago, we started our effort to Redefine Healthcare. We knew then there was a better way to deliver true healthcare. One that was rooted in Transparency, Authenticity, & Value.
Access to quality healthcare services creates healthier lives and communities. The problem is oftentimes, we encounter barriers to healthcare that limit our ability to obtain the care we need. In order for our community to have sufficient access, healthcare services must be available and obtainable at an affordable cost.
Table Health set out to solve this problem in our northern Michigan community by providing a new approach to how we define healthcare and more recently (in 2020) deliver essential primary care services with Dr. Andrea Stoecker. Our founder and Table Health President, Jill Butryn, MD, led the charge to not only redefine healthcare but bring on incredibly skilled and caring physicians and practitioners from the beginning including Dr. Jennifer Lyon and Carol Bell, LMT, Registered Dietitian, who continue to support the health and personal wellbeing of each and every individual they encounter at the practice.
Our mission is to redefine healthcare and therefore offer more than annual physicals and urgent care by supporting our patients and members year-round with educational resources such as webinars, lectures, and classes to empower lifestyle changes that have an impact on both day-to-day wellbeing and long-term health outcomes.
Table Health expanded our existing Functional Medicine and Wellness health services to include Direct Primary Care (DPC) in the spring of 2020 just as COVID-19 hit. Overall practice membership/patients increased by 40% in the first year during an ongoing pandemic.
Having launched the first Direct Primary Care (DPC) healthcare model in our region, unencumbered by barriers inherent in the current model of healthcare delivery, local residents can access primary care services by paying a low monthly fee. There are no co-pays, no deductibles, and no waiting to get in to see your doctor. Because we don’t participate with insurance, we’re not bound by contracts which can create barriers for providers and patients in their quest for optimal health.
This patient-centered, preventative care approach puts patients in control of their health and aims to ensure they feel seen and heard. Direct Primary Care (DPC) and Functional Medicine practiced at Table Health meet the growing patient demand for a more individualized healthcare experience.
Now five years later, Table Health continues to champion this movement by offering cost-effective, transparent, and relationship-based healthcare. Our membership is steadily increasing, with overall growth increasing by 168% after adding DPC. We’re now eagerly making plans to respond to the demand including adding to our team of DPC providers and expanding geographically, all while continuing to reduce emergency room use by 40% or more via accessible, affordable care.
