Northbound PT & Wellness with Aubrey Jabour

AUBREY JABOUR, PT, DPT, CEAS

We’re excited to introduce you to Aubrey Jabor, PT, DPT, CEAS a talented physical therapist who is passionate about helping you move better and feel your best. While Aubrey’s practice, Northbound Physical Therapy and Wellness is based at Table Health, her services are separate and independent from the other offerings at Table Health.

A Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist, Aubrey also holds additional training in the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease. Her area of expertise is in the prevention and treatment of pain, musculoskeletal conditions, and movement disorders that commonly occur with work, recreational activities, caregiving, and aging.

Recently we had the opportunity to ask Aubrey a few questions about her practice. Please read along to get to know her and find out how you can benefit from her services.

Q. In regards to your areas of expertise, what does a typical session look like? What can your clients expect?
A. I work with people in the office at Table Health once a week, in their homes, and virtually. The location is based on their needs. I commonly see working-age folks at Table Health and older adults in their homes where we focus on functional fitness and aging in place, especially those with chronic conditions like arthritis and Parkinson’s disease. Sessions are typically an hour in length and vary in frequency based on the needs and goals of each person.

I know very little about cars, but I often compare my work to that of keeping one ready for the road. There’s regular driving and maintenance that’s needed and then there are times you need more specialized diagnosis and service from the mechanic (yes, I do think of myself as a mechanic for the body!). My general approach to preventative care is customized to each person but generally includes:

Ensuring you have a regular physical activity routine that is:

  • Enjoyable
  • Has balanced movements
  • Is tailored to your goals and health conditions

Proactively addressing problems before they begin with:

  • Ergonomics- Ensuring daily activities, such as during working, caregiving, or recreation are not contributing to pain or injury.
  • Movement screenings- like an annual physical with your primary care doctor, but for balance and functional movements with a musculoskeletal expert.

Addressing issues early on before they are harder, more time consuming, and more costly to treat

  • Early Intervention- for pain that seems to come out of nowhere, isn’t getting better, or starts to get in the way of regular activity, seeing a physical therapist can help you address and manage it with greater success than if you wait months to get care.

Q. What kind of feedback do you regularly hear from clients?
A. Previous patients and clients have expressed to me that they appreciate the way I provide education and my non-judgemental approach is helpful.

Q. How are your fees for services structured?
A. I charge on a per visit basis, but have programs for those who want ongoing management and services on an annual basis.

I work outside the insurance system which does not typically even pay for prevention-focused services. In some cases, people may be able to submit to their insurance for partial reimbursement.

Q. How can our readers connect with you? Learn from you?

We’ll setup a brief phone consultation and figure out the right approach for you. I also have a monthly wellness email that you can sign up for on my website northboundpt.com.
